Is PupDefense safe for my dog and family?
Yes. PupDefense is made with natural ingredients and is designed to deter cane toads, not poison anything. It is safe to use around your dog, your kids, and your garden when applied as directed.
How does PupDefense work?
It makes your yard miserable for cane toads. The scent, taste, and feel are something they want no part of, so visit after visit fewer come back. It changes their behavior over time rather than working instantly, which is how any honest deterrent works.
How much do I need?
About one gallon covers 200 feet per application. Use the calculator on our home page to size it for your yard, and add a little extra for the spots toads hide such as A/C units, bushes, and beds.
How often do I reapply?
Apply twice during the first month to break the toads' habit, then once a month after that to keep them away. Staying consistent is what makes it stick.
Will a fence keep cane toads out instead?
Usually not. Cane toads climb anything that is not perfectly smooth, push through gaps, and scale chain link with ease, and tiny toadlets slip through almost anything. PupDefense works in the places a fence cannot.
Does rain wash it away?
PupDefense is built for Florida weather. Rain is part of life here, which is exactly why we recommend reapplying on a regular monthly schedule to keep the barrier working.
